New Grand Baby: Congratulations Michael and Brooke

I finally got to see my great grand baby. His name is Ryan Opfar. He was born in December pf 2010. His parents are Michael and Brooke Opfar. I think he is number 6. I am expecting another one another one soon.

The are starting a brand new life in Green Bay Wisconsin. I wish them well and hope they can get their life in order and have lots of success and enjoyment.

Tammy's Goodbye Party

We all had a wonderful time for Tammy's party. Tammy, Michael, Brooke, Jacob and Savannah, Monica, Lacey (Jay had to work) Tina, Kipp, Felicia, Raia, Jesse, Keira, John, Kathy, Robin, Don, Britni and their dog Cookie all came as well as Randy, (now known as Grandy) Matt, Kelly, Mattiejo, Kinley, Kelby and me were there. We saw a video of Michael's baby boy to be born in Dec. And Monica did a wonderful presentation for a goobye present to Tammy. It was done on the computer as a slide show. Tammy is moving on Aug 27.

My little granddaughters, Savannah, MattieJo, Kinley and Jaden were so cute in their spring dance. I just love my family and I am so happy they get the opportunity to do some many things.

Nice Visit

Yesterday I had a nice visit from Elaine, (my brother Chris' wife: Chris was in NYC), from Kent, WA and her daughter Cassie who is from San Antonio TX. Robin from America Fork, also visited and we all went out to eat at Mimi's. It was really nice to have them visit.

Visit in Tremonton

We had a wonderful visit with Monica and Jay yesterday. They have a new puppie named Seymor. He is a basset hound. Bella has a playmate now and they are so cute together. They were fighting over a bone. I am sure Seymor will grow really large and then he might be too much for Bella. But I am sure she will really love the companionship with him.

Monica and Jay fixed us a nice dutch oven meal. I got to talk on the phone to JJ who lives in Indianna. Randy said next year we may got visit his sister in North Carolina. Then we also visit JJ. Thank you Monica and Jay for a great meal and vitis.

Cherokee and Her Siblings

Congratulations, Cherokee!

I am very proud of Cherokee. She has maintained a 4.0 average throughout all her school years. She is a member of the FFA and won thired place in nursery. She will prbably receive a full scholarship. She will probably also be going to Indianna again to compete. Keep up the good work Cherokee!

Also, Chevy is doing good and will probably start working if I understood it right, for the FFA.

And it looks Contessa and Lorin are soon going to have a real life change experience. Your life will never be the same. But congratulations to both of you.

WOW: A Grandmother Again I Guess!!

Got the news this morning that Matt and Kelly are expecting their fourth child. Man are they going to be busy. Let's hope they have a son so maybe they can quit. I worry about their health and the bad economy these days. I am sure I will love the baby very much and the it (he?) will be really cute.

Anyway I am happy for them and glad it's not me.

Wedding in Idaho: New Great Grandson

For Thanksgiving we went to Mimi's Cafe. It was really crowded but we had reservations. We had a traditional Thanksgiving dinner there. Then we went to vist Tammy and Monica (Monica was at Tammy's house. We also visited Matt's magnificent Christmas light display. That must have been a lot of work and a lot of money.

Last weekend we attended Contessa's wedding. She was married in Rigby Idaho. I can't believe it, it seems just like yesterday when she was born. Marty is very young to have a son-in-law. Her married name is Contessa Zippay, (not sure how to spell it) The groom's name is Loren and he is from Ohio. They are now living in Springville UJT. Loren's parents and grandparents attended as well. We enjoyed ourselves very much at the wedding and getting to see more family. I also got to see my new great grandson John Rockford. He belongs to JJ who is Monica's son. I can't believe I am getting so old. JJ lives in Indiana and is married to Samantha who he met in Iraq. I was so good to see him as he lives so far away.

On the way home we ate dinner at Little America in SLC. We have an enjoyable weekend.

New Great Grandson!

He was born July 14 and belongs to my grandson JJ who is Monica's oldest. JJ lives in Indiana with his wife Sam. The baby's name is John Rockford Riehle. All first born sons in the Riehle family have the name of John. Just a family tradition I guess. Now I have 3 great grandchildren!

My Father and My Children's Father

Yesterday was Father's Day. I remember my own father as a very good example for our family. He was a very hard worker and a very dependable person. He taught me to be thrifty and the value of hard work. He took us lots of neat places and played with us as well as worked with us. He set a very good example and I wish I would have followed in his footsteps but I could just never live up to what he was. I loved him very much and it is hard that he is not longer here. He was my rock and my example on this earth. I love you Dad and if anyone was worthy to be in the highest place in the hereafter, it would be you for sure.

I also loved my Alex; the father of my children. He wasn't perfect but he was a very hard worker and very dependable. He had a dry sense of humor. I miss the times we used to travel together; the camping trips, the road trips and square dancing. He left this world very unexpectedly with his untimely death. I miss you Alex and I hope to see you again someday.

Old Times, Good Times

Last night I watched some of our old family movies. Boy how the time flies. Watching them was bitter sweet. Looking at the kids when they were little only intensifies to me how much they all look like each other. Tammy looked so much like Savannah. Marty really resembles Chevy more than I thought. Those were happy times when all the kids were so young and innocent and having so much fun doing ordinary things like going to the park, Lagoon and birthday parties. I wish I had hung on to everything more closely because now it's the past and I wish I had cherished it more. Those were happy times but sometimes hard times but never to be forgotten and I very glad we had those times.

We enjoyed a good hamburger meal at Matt's on Sunday. Matt has really fixed up his house. Randy really enjoyed Matt's dogs. The photo on the upper right is Randy with March, his cat who like to lay on him while he is watching TV.
