I just realized it was Kelly's birthday on Oct. 17. I keep forgetting things these days. So I am wishing Kelly a very very happy late birthday. I have really enjoyed having Kelly in our family.

One Year Anniversary

Can you beleive it? Randy and I have now been together for one year. Actually we didn't meet in person until the first part of November, but the 16th of October was the first time we talked on the phone and chatted on the computer, which was probably over 8 hours. Above is a photo of us in an AZ restaurant celebrating.

Our Trip Home from AZ

On the way home, we stayed in Kanab Utah. We visited the Angel Canyon Animal Sanctuary there where they care for unwanted animals and animals with special needs. They are a no kill facility. They also try to make the animals adoptable. They are the ones putting on Dogtown on the Nat Geo station now. We enjoyed the tour and of course we wanted to adopt all the animals but we are doing our share with all those cats we have. Now that we are home, we are busy as can be cleaning the house after being gone nine days. Above you will see photos of animals and the canyon and also the entrance to a large pet cemetery. When animals die there, they are buried in that cemetery.

Our Trip

The photos above are of the saguaro cactus which I love and other cactus's and Judy's home (the one with Randy in the yard) and another home in the area. Bill and Carol are the older couple and the elderly lady is Peggy. The photos of Randy and I with the lady is Starr (the lady) Judy is the lady sitting at the table. Then there is also a photo of Randy alone at Bill and Carol's. There is also a photo of a cowboy saloon we visited.

We had a good time in Arizona. We stayed in Scottsdale which is a ritzy part of Arizone. The home we stayed in was very large with a swimming pool however, the swimming pool was drained. The weather was perfect, a little hot the last few days. But while it was snowing here in Utah, it was 70 degrees and sunny there. We visited our friends, Starr, Bill and Carol, Judy and Peggy. All friends from Mesa. Our other friends, Leona and Virgil were gone in their motorhome back east so we didn't get to see them. We were invited to Bill's and Carol's for a BBQ. We went with Starr to a movie and out to eat.

We went with Judy out to eat after she got home from CA. I got to know her a little better. She is the one that went to CA to see her new baby granddaughter. This is her only grandchild and Judy is about my age. I was very concerned staying at Judy's home. Randy once lived with her in her home for a couple of years. They broke up but remain good friends. So I really was not so sure about staying at her home and meeting her. It was kind of awkward having dinner with her since I realized that she was once with Randy and all three of us were together at dinner. She is nice though. She is a physical therapist working only once or twice a week as she is semi retired. She had three cats that we tended. She has two sons, one of which is a Dr. and the other some big CEO or something. Her daughter-in-law is a Dr. too. She is Jewish but not an orthodox Jew. She has plenty of money and has traveled the world including Africa and South America.

Happy Birthday to Tammy

Saturday was Tammy's birthday.  I am sorry I was away.  She and I will do something fun when I return.  I am not at my computer now so I don't have photos to download but I will do a profile of Tammy when I return home.  So look for that next week.

Nice Weather!

I am now in Scottsdale Arizona.  We are tending 3 cats in a home here while the owner is away. People in Arizona are so happy here because the weather is in the 70's when it is usually in the 80's or 90's.  I hear it has been in the 40's at home and snowing.  Boy I am glad I am not there!

We have been visiting friends here.  On Wednesday we will go to eat with some friends. Yesterday we went to a movie and out to eat with Starr who is one of our friends.

We are staying in a very large home here in Scottsdale.  I can't believe how big it is.  It has 4 bedrooms of which two are used for a computer room and a walk in closet, a walk-in closet the size of a bedroom.  Can you believe it!   The floors are all ceramic tile with Persian carpets on top.  There are tons of storage spaces.  The master bathroom is huge with a dressing room included.  There is also a huge dining room as well as a living room.  It also includes a laundry room, a large pantry and a large patio that is fenced in with all brick so the cats can go outside through their cat door.  There is a lighted entry that leads to the front door.  It is arched and covered. There is also a 2 car garage.

There are lots of saguaro cactus here and lots of palm trees. There is a swimming pool at the house here but it is drained. DARN!   I do miss my TV at home. I have more programming there. I do miss my cats, believe it or not but it's nice to get away from the work that we have to do to care for them.

I wish Randy could feel better.  He has been having a lot of pain and they have not been able to find out what  it is.  A CT scan found nothing. It may just be arthritis.  He has had so many back surgeries and problems that causes chronic pain.He is on insulin now and it was good for a while but now his blood sugar is going up again.  It's so hard to keep it where it needs to be. He has not been eating sugar and trying to eat right but still has problems. It is so hard to know what to do and what to eat.  It's a pain.  There's not a lot of choices of what to eat either.  I feel bad for him.  We should be home on Saturday.

IRA Going Going Soon Gone!

Due to the economy, I have lost almost $2000 from my IRA. I can't decide whether to just draw it out or leave it there. BUMMER!

Off to Arizona

Randy and I are leaving for Arizona tomorrow. We will be there a week. We are visiting friends there and taking care of a lady's home and caring for her cats while she is away. It will save us money. I am looking forward to this since we won't be doing anything again until next summer. But then we may be going to Idaho the Sat. after Thanksgiving to Contessa's wedding.

Randy has had some health issues but he had a whole physical checkup and a CT scan and everything is normal except his blood sugar. He has had to go on insulin. His blood sugar is getting better and he has not been eating sweets except those with Splenda. It's sure expensive using Splenda though.

We had to get a new router for our computers. We got a wireless router and Ethernet and things work much better. Our old router kept kicking us off the Internet.

We have been together almost a year now. I don't think we will marry. It's a hassle worrying about dividing things up. Randy has had enough marriages and feels he will be jinxed if he marries again. We are happy the way we are. It is no different than if we were married, just no piece of paper. We are very committed to each other. I know our religion teaches us different but I don't feel I am doing anything wrong and it is better the way we are doing it for everyone concerned. I feel that if it's a sin what I am doing, then the practice of polygamy in the past was sin as well. I am a big girl so I guess if there are consequences then I will have to take them as they come. I like to be able to think for myself and not have to be dictated to on what I should do or not do. However, this is not a decision to be taken lightly and it requires maturity and financial means before it should ever be undertaken. I do hope that even though many of my family would not agree with my lifestyle, that you will at least accept me anyway with all my faults. I just believe different than many of you I know. Wrong or right, that's just me.
